What is the purpose of wrinkle injections?

Over the years, our skin loses volume, elasticity and firmness. Especially in the face, thin, dry and wrinkled skin makes for a tired, weary and sometimes even disgruntled appearance. For such symptoms, the minimally invasive treatment method of wrinkle injections with hyaluronic acid can show its strengths. Hyaluronic acid binds water and acts as a moisturizer under the skin, replenishing the lost volume. Wrinkles are smoothed, the skin appears firm again and is visibly refreshed - without looking mask-like.

What are the advantages of wrinkle injections with hyaluronic acid?

The filler used in wrinkle injections is similar to the form found in our body. Synthetic hyaluronic acid is of non-animal origin and has a gel-like consistency, which leads to an immediately visible result. The body degrades it very slowly, which is why the cosmetic effect lasts for about 6 to 12 months. We use only high quality, up-to-date products from the world's leading brands of fillers and hyaluronic acid.

Is the wrinkle injection painful?

The viscosity of hyaluronic acid allows it to be injected using a very fine cannula. In addition, the diagonal cut at the tip of the cannula ensures that it is almost not felt on its way through the skin layers. In exceptional cases, customers report a slight feeling of pressure, but this quickly subsides. For people who are particularly sensitive to pain, we offer anesthesia of the corresponding region with the help of an ointment or cream. Most of the hyaluronic acid preparations themselves contain lidocaine, a local anesthetic, which means that the treatment is almost not felt.

Which wrinkles are suitable for injection with hyaluronic acid?

Hyaluronic acid is suitable for the correction of superficial wrinkles and the filling of deep wrinkles, often in the eye region or also on the chin. Other application possibilities worth mentioning beyond wrinkle injections are the enlargement and modeling of the lips and the treatment of acne scars. In principle, the entire body can be treated with hyaluronic acid, but the focus is on the facial area.

How long do the results of wrinkle injections last?

The result of a wrinkle injection lasts a gratifyingly long time - measured against the effort involved - because the body breaks down the hyaluronic acid only very slowly. A distinction is made between low-viscosity hyaluronic acid preparations with a duration of action of approx. 3 to 6 months and more viscous variants whose effect lasts 12 to 24 months. Thus, one can roughly assume an effective duration of 6 to 12 months.

How long does the treatment last?

The wrinkle injection itself takes no longer than 15 minutes. Taking into account the explanatory consultation and other preparatory measures, the entire stay in our walk-in practice takes about 30 to 45 minutes.

When will the result be visible?

The result is visible immediately after the wrinkle injection. In most cases, the treated facial regions show a slight redness, which, however, quickly subsides. It takes about a week for the distribution of the hyaluronic acid preparation to be completed at its target location. This is noticeable in that the skin appearance becomes increasingly even and harmonious during this time.

When will I be socially acceptable again?

Immediately after the wrinkle injection, you will leave our walk-in practice in Munich with a visibly fresher appearance. You are immediately fit for work and social life again and can apply a light daytime make-up to cover up any minor redness.

What should I consider before the treatment?

The treatment does not require any special precautionary measures. However, we recommend that you refrain from taking so-called "blood thinners" (acetylsalicylic acid, ASA, aspirin) for seven days before the procedure. This minimizes the risk of bruising as a result of the injections. If you regularly take blood thinning medication or suffer from a blood clotting disorder, we will take this important information into account in our treatment plan.

What should I pay attention to after the treatment?

As a general rule, you should apply an effective sunscreen after the wrinkle injection and avoid direct sunlight and a visit to the solarium for at least 24 hours. On the treatment day itself, please also refrain from sports and sauna sessions. The risk of swelling and bruising is reduced by consistently cooling the skin before and after the wrinkle injection.

What side effects can be expected after treatment?

Usually no or hardly any side effects are to be expected after wrinkle injections. In general, the treatment is very well tolerated, and allergic reactions are also extremely rare. Slight reddening of the skin or swelling may occur at the injection site. The formation of a small hematoma (bruise) is also possible. In this case, it takes about a week for the bruise to disappear. Reddening of the skin and swelling disappear on the day of treatment and are no longer visible. Before the treatment, the responsible specialist will inform you in detail about all the details to be observed.

At what age is wrinkle injection advisable?

Purely aesthetic treatments are performed by us from the age of 18. In addition, the consequences of the aging process play only a minor role for customers under 30 years of age. There is no upper age limit, also called "maximum age". Ultimately, every adult decides for themselves whether and when wrinkles or sagging facial features are perceived as disturbing.

When should wrinkle injections not be performed?

Wrinkle injection should not be performed during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Likewise, treatment is not recommended in the case of febrile infections or an acute infection with herpes viruses.

How much does a wrinkle injection cost?

You can find the cost of our treatments on the Services page.

Well done, of course.

A perceptible freshness kick, a small effective support - at PAAU, less is often more. Because we also measure "well done" by the degree of naturalness of the optical result.
